Here you will find out more information on the events we are organising!
Working alongside HOPPILY, SHOW UP! SOUTHEND organised an event for local authors, playwrights, poets, screenwriters and more to showcase their work. HOPPILY is an online Bottle Shop & Craft Beer Club with Tap Rooms in Leigh-on-Sea and Chelmsford.
We opened a pop up book shop where authors were able to display and sell their work for free (a commission on sales may apply). We are also welcomed several people who read their work out loud! It’s simply a platform to share your work in front of an audience. These events were free to attend!

You will need to drop off your books on Saturday morning and collect your books on Sunday evening. Times to be confirmed.

We are bringing back our Makers Market to Hadleigh Fire Station !!
With live music, food and drink and over 30 stalls it’s going to be an excellent winter treat!
Come down to the heart of Hadleigh to purchase locally made arts, crafts, homewares and more!
Dates for 2022 now confirmed as 29th October!!
You’ll be able to apply for a stall in May.
We are bringing back A BRAND NEW EVENT to Hadleigh Fire Station !!
Many of the creatives we know have spoken of the out of season craft and art clogging up their studios! So let’s try and sell it!
Come down to the heart of Hadleigh to purchase locally made arts, crafts, homewares and more at discounted rates!!
You’ll be able to apply for a stall in April.
– AIMED AT PEOPLE THAT WANT TO WRITE FOR THEATRE/TV/ FILM
– NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
– Each session 3/4 extracts or ideas are workshopped as a group
– Could be rewrites / character development / adding jokes/ streamlining jokes etc
– Maximum of four pieces per session, with each no more than 10 minutes long
– CULMINATING IN SHOWCASE OF WORK TO A LIVE AUDIENCE
** THIS IS NOT A SIT DOWN AND LISTEN SESSION. IT’S A COLLABORATIVE APPROACH TO LEARNING HOW TO WRITE COMEDY**
In October 2021 we teamed up with Create98 to bring a series of business upskilling sessions over one weekend. All specifically designed for emerging artists, crafters and makers.
The sessions on offer were;
1. What to expect at your first market
2. How to set up a website
3. Learn how to Photograph your Product
4. Beginners Guide to Instagram
5. Beginners Guide to Etsy
6. Introduction to Making your Business Eco Friendly
7. Pricing your Work
8. Intro to Tax and Bookkeeping
We also had a relaxed drinks evening at the end of the weekend at Create98.
